Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · fortnightly
Recommended varietiesEndless Summer, Annabelle, Incrediball
FLOWER COLOUR depends on soil pH! For blue flowers: acidify at every watering (SHIVA pH Down 0.5 g/5L). For pink: calcareous soil, pH above 6.5.
Oleander easy
TemperatureHeat-loving – store frost-free in winter!
Soil pH6.0–7.5
WateringGenerous – can stand on a large drip tray
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 5 L · weekly (May–Sep)

Regular deadheading = continuous flowering all summer. Morning watering is essential during heat waves.
Dahlia medium
Soil pH6.0–7.0
PlantingMay (after last frost) – tubers 10 cm deep
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 5 L · weekly (Jun–Oct)
Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · fortnightly

Recommended varietiesBishop of Llandaff, Café au lait, Thomas Edison
Staking is essential for large-flowered varieties. Pinch stem tip for branching = more flowers.
Lily & bulb plants easy
Soil pH6.0–6.8
PlantingAutumn (tulip, daffodil) / spring (lily)
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 5 L · fortnightly (until flowering)
Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · monthly
After floweringDo not cut leaves until they yellow!
For bulb plants most nutrients return to the bulb AFTER flowering. Do not cut the green part after flowering!

Evergreens & Hedge

Thuja · Boxwood · Ivy · Rhododendron · Mahonia · Evergreen shrubs

Thuja / Evergreen cypress easy
Soil pH5.5–7.5 (flexible)
LightFull sun – slower growth in part shade
WateringModerate – drought-tolerant once established
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 5 L · fortnightly (Apr–Sep)
Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · monthly (last Oct: winterising!)
EC target0.8–1.5 mS/cm
Recommended varietiesSmaragd Thuja, Brabant, Thuja occidentalis
The last autumn Amino+ is especially important for thuja – proline reduces the risk of winter browning. "Browning" is mainly winter drought, not frost!
Boxwood easy
Soil pH6.0–7.5
LightFull sun and part shade equally
PruningEnd of May + August (twice yearly)
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 5 L · fortnightly (Apr–Aug)
Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · monthly
Risk from box moth (Cydalima perspectalis)! Regular inspection is mandatory. Chitosan-like effect of Amino+ provides weak protection, but insecticide may be needed.
Rhododendron / Azalea demanding – acidic substrate!
Soil pH4.5–5.5 MANDATORY!
SubstratePeaty, acidic rhododendron compost
LightDappled light, shade – avoid midday sun
WateringWith rainwater or acidified water!
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 10 L · fortnightly (half dose!)
Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · fortnightly
Lives at pH 4.5–5.5! In alkaline soil it yellows and dies. Acidify at every watering if tap water pH > 6.0. Peaty substrate and rainwater ideal.
Ivy & climbing plants easy
Soil pH6.0–7.5
LightFrom full shade to full sun (variety dependent)
WateringModerate – drought-tolerant
SHIVA Grow1 sachet / 10 L · fortnightly (half dose)
Amino+1 sachet / 5 L · monthly
Ivy and Virginia creeper need minimal fertilising. Much N = fast shoot growth but less leaf colour intensity. Half dose is sufficient!

Deficiency Symptoms in Ornamental Plants

SHIVA Plant Wash – Basic Substances Plant Wash · Fungal and pest prevention

Spray once weekly · Do not add to watering water! · Suitable for organic growing · No EU permit required

When to spray?Every week, preferably morning or evening
Dose1 sachet / 0.5 L water · as spray
What for?Prevention of powdery mildew, aphids, botrytis, mites
Important!DO NOT add to watering water – spray only. Do not mix with fertiliser!
